Independent Work & Holiday visa (subclass 462) cap alerts
Malaysia Work and Holiday visa cap alerts
Australia limits how many first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visas can be granted to Malaysian passport holders in a program year. While the published status is paused, new applications from Malaysia are not available.
A paused cap may return to open later in the same program year. Nothing is announced in advance — the status page simply changes.
VisaCapAlert checks Malaysia's published cap status every minute and emails you when we detect that change.
- We check Malaysia's published cap status every minute
- Get an email alert when we detect that Malaysia has changed
- Add an optional WhatsApp notification after payment
- Know sooner, without repeatedly checking the official status page yourself
Independent alert service. No visa or migration advice.
One-time RM19.90, or RM2.90 for the first month.

How the Malaysia alert works
Create your Malaysia alert
Enter your email address and confirm it with the code we send you. Malaysia is already selected as the country to monitor.
Choose how you pay
Pick the one-time payment or the monthly payment option. Both buy exactly the same Premium monitoring and notifications — only the payment structure differs.
We check every minute
VisaCapAlert checks Malaysia's published cap status every minute — up to 1,440 checks a day.
Get notified and act promptly
When we detect that Malaysia's published status has changed, we email you. After payment you can also add and verify a phone number for an optional WhatsApp notification. You remain responsible for checking the official requirements, confirming your own eligibility, and lodging your application through the official Australian Government process.
We monitor the official Home Affairs country-cap status page. That government page can be delayed by up to 48 hours, so alerts reflect when a status change is published — not necessarily when the underlying decision was made.
Malaysia cap status
Loading the current Malaysia status…
Status information comes from the official Department of Home Affairs country-cap status page. That government page can take up to 48 hours to reflect a change, so our alerts tell you when a status change is published — not necessarily when the underlying decision was made. We have no privileged access to government information about Malaysia. View the official Home Affairs cap-status page.
Understanding Malaysia's Work and Holiday visa cap
The annual cap applies to first Work and Holiday subclass 462 visas granted to Malaysian passport holders. Second and third Work and Holiday visas sit outside that first-visa cap.
PAUSED means new applications from Malaysian passport holders are temporarily unavailable, whether to manage volumes or as the annual cap is approached.
A paused cap may return to OPEN in the same program year; a CLOSED cap will not, and waits for caps to reset on 1 July.
VisaCapAlert monitors and reports the published status. We do not set it and we do not see it before it is published.
Why create a Malaysia cap alert?
Malaysia sits only a few hours from Australian time, so a status change published during the Australian working day lands in the middle of yours. That is convenient — if you happen to be looking.
VisaCapAlert removes the 'if'. We check Malaysia's published status every minute and email you when we detect a change, with optional WhatsApp after payment.
An alert does not reserve a place or influence a visa decision. It is prompt notice of a published change, nothing more.
- VisaCapAlert does not reserve or hold a visa place.
- VisaCapAlert does not submit your application.
- VisaCapAlert does not assess your eligibility.
- VisaCapAlert does not provide migration advice.
- VisaCapAlert does not guarantee a visa outcome.
Choose how you pay for Malaysia monitoring
Both options include every-minute checks, email alerts and optional WhatsApp notifications.
The difference is only the payment structure.
One-time payment
A single payment, no recurring charges.
- 1,440 checks per day
- Email and optional WhatsApp notifications
- Malaysia monitoring
- Active until 30 June
Monthly payment option
Then RM11.50/mo for two more months — no more than 3 payments, and no more than RM25.90 in total.
- 1,440 checks per day
- Email and optional WhatsApp notifications
- Malaysia monitoring
- Active until 30 June
Premium monitoring for Malaysia stays active until 30 June 2027 AEST on either option. Cap statuses reset on 1 July, when you can register again for the new period.
You can cancel the monthly option at any time by emailing support@visacapalert.com. No future payments are processed after cancellation. Payments already made are not refunded, and monitoring stops when the plan is cancelled.

Malaysia cap alerts — frequently asked questions
Malaysia has an annual limit on the number of first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visas Australia may grant to Malaysian passport holders. The current published figure is shown in the cap status panel on this page, taken directly from the official Department of Home Affairs country-cap page so it stays correct if the official figure changes.
PAUSED means new applications from Malaysian passport holders are temporarily unavailable. A paused cap may return to OPEN later in the same program year, though that is not guaranteed. We monitor the published status and notify you when we detect that it has changed.
We check Malaysia's published cap status every minute and email your confirmed address as soon as we detect that the status has changed. After payment you can also add and verify a phone number for an optional WhatsApp message. What we cannot do is tell you in advance whether or when Malaysia will reopen — that is decided by the official process and we learn of it when it is published.
A CLOSED status means the cap will not reopen during the current program year. If Malaysia changes to CLOSED while your alert is active, we notify you of that status change too — knowing where you stand is the point of the alert. Cap statuses reset for the new program year on 1 July.
That is a real possibility and we will not pretend otherwise: a paused cap may stay paused, or close. Your alert stays active for the monitoring period you paid for and notifies you if and when the published status changes. Because monitoring begins the moment you pay, the payment is not refundable on the basis that the status never changed — if you are unsure, that is worth weighing before you buy.
Yes. The Malaysia alert is priced in Malaysian ringgit by default and charged by card. Australian dollars are available as an alternative on the payment summary; the service is identical either way.
Yes — after payment you can add and verify any number that can receive WhatsApp, including a Malaysian one. Email remains the primary channel and is always sent; WhatsApp is an optional extra on top of it.
The alert monitors the published first-visa cap status for Malaysia, which is the status shown on the Home Affairs page. Second and third Work and Holiday visas are not governed by that first-visa cap, so an alert is of limited use if that is what you are applying for.
VisaCapAlert.com is an independent notification service. We help users stay informed about visa cap status changes, but we are not affiliated with the Australian Government or the Department of Home Affairs.
Yes. VisaCapAlert.com is operated in Australia by WONDRATECH PTY LTD under the registered business name Status Alert Technologies. Our Australian Business Number is 51 633 863 966, which you can verify through the Australian Government’s ABN Lookup service.
We provide status alerts only. We don’t sell migration services, make sales calls or submit visa applications.
We monitor the official Home Affairs country-cap status page. That government page can be delayed by up to 48 hours, so alerts reflect when a status change is published, not necessarily when the underlying decision was made.
VisaCapAlert.com focuses on monitoring and notifications only. When we detect a relevant status change for your selected country, we send an alert to the email address you provided — and, on Premium, to WhatsApp if you opted in. You remain responsible for checking your eligibility and submitting any visa application yourself.
Spots are limited and first come, first served, and we can’t hold or reserve one for you. What we do is alert you when your country reopens according to the official Home Affairs page, so you can lodge as quickly as possible. Visa availability, eligibility, application outcomes, and approvals are controlled by the official visa process.
You can watch the official Home Affairs page yourself. But caps are small and first come, first served, so when a paused country reopens the remaining spots can be gone quickly. An alert means you hear about the status page change promptly and can focus on lodging your application, rather than keeping an eye on the status page yourself.
Free alerts are no longer available for new registrations. Existing Free alerts remain active under their current conditions until 30 June 2027 AEST, with no payment required.
New users can choose Premium monitoring with either a one-time payment or a monthly payment option. Both Premium options include every-minute checks, email alerts and optional WhatsApp notifications.
Yes. Existing Free alerts remain active under their existing conditions until 30 June 2027 AEST. Free alerts are no longer available for new registrations.
By email. We check the official status page every minute, so we can alert you within minutes of a change being published. We can also alert you on WhatsApp if you add and verify a phone number after payment.
You confirm your email with a code and complete payment — a one-time RM19.90, or the monthly option starting at RM2.90 — and your alert is active straight away. After payment you can also add a phone number to be notified by WhatsApp. We then watch your selected country's cap and notify you when its published status changes.
Only in how you pay — the service is identical. One-time is a single RM19.90 payment with no recurring charges. Monthly is RM2.90 for the first month, then RM11.50/mo for two more months: no more than 3 payments, and no more than RM25.90 in total.
Both options include every-minute checks, email alerts and optional WhatsApp notifications, and both stay active until 30 June 2027 AEST.
You can cancel the monthly option anytime by emailing support@visacapalert.com; no future payments are processed after cancellation, months already charged aren't refunded, and monitoring stops at that point. If a monthly payment fails, you have 7 days to update your card before the alert is cancelled.
On 1 July AEST, visa cap statuses reset, so you'll need to register again to keep tracking a country in the new cap period.
Yes. Each alert is created for one selected country. To monitor another country, simply create a separate alert for that country.
A paused cap may reopen later in the same program year, but this isn’t guaranteed, and it can also close. Your alert stays active for your selected country during the current period, and we email you if and when its status changes. The timing of any reopening is controlled by the official visa cap process.
Our every-minute monitoring kicks in the moment you pay, so refunds generally aren’t available once it’s live. If you chose the monthly option, months you’ve already been charged for aren’t refunded, but you can cancel anytime by emailing support to stop any future payments. If something went wrong with your payment or setup, just reach out to support and we’ll happily take a look.
