Independent Work & Holiday visa (subclass 462) cap alerts

San Marino Work and Holiday visa cap alerts

Australia caps the number of first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visas it may grant to Sammarinese passport holders in each program year. San Marino holds one of the smallest annual allocations in the program, so its published status can change with very little warning.

A PAUSED status means new first Work and Holiday applications from Sammarinese passport holders are temporarily unavailable. The cap can return to OPEN later in the same program year, and no reopening date is published ahead of time.

VisaCapAlert checks San Marino’s published cap status every minute and emails you as soon as we detect that it has changed.

We monitor the official Home Affairs country-cap status page. That government page can be delayed by up to 48 hours, so alerts reflect when a status change is published — not necessarily when the underlying decision was made.

You remain responsible for checking the official requirements, confirming your own eligibility, and lodging your application through the official Australian Government process.

Status information comes from the official Department of Home Affairs country-cap status page. That government page can take up to 48 hours to reflect a change, so our alerts tell you when a status change is published — not necessarily when the underlying decision was made. Understanding San Marino's Work and Holiday visa cap

Australia applies an annual cap to the number of first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visas that may be granted to Sammarinese passport holders. Second and third Work and Holiday visas are not counted against the first-visa cap in the same way.

A PAUSED status means new first Work and Holiday applications from Sammarinese passport holders are temporarily unavailable. A pause may be used to manage application volumes, or as the country approaches its annual limit.

A paused cap can return to OPEN later in the same program year. A CLOSED cap will not reopen during that program year and waits for the reset on 1 July.

VisaCapAlert does not control when San Marino opens, pauses or closes. We monitor the published status and tell you when we detect that it has changed.

Why create a San Marino cap alert?

Because the allocation is small, San Marino is easy to overlook: there is no announcement list to subscribe to, and no scheduled reopening to count down to.

Central European time sits eight to ten hours behind eastern Australia, so a status update published during the Australian working day lands in the middle of the Sammarinese night.

VisaCapAlert watches the published status every minute and emails you when we detect a change. After payment you can also add and verify a phone number for an optional WhatsApp message.

An alert does not reserve a place, lodge an application, assess your eligibility or promise a visa outcome. It means you hear about a published change promptly rather than by chance.

  • VisaCapAlert does not reserve or hold a visa place.
  • VisaCapAlert does not submit your application.
  • VisaCapAlert does not assess your eligibility.
  • VisaCapAlert does not provide migration advice.
  • VisaCapAlert does not guarantee a visa outcome.

San Marino cap alerts — frequently asked questions

What is San Marino's annual Work and Holiday visa cap?

San Marino has an annual limit on the number of first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visas Australia may grant to Sammarinese passport holders. The current published figure is shown in the cap status panel on this page, taken directly from the official Department of Home Affairs country-cap page so it stays correct if the official figure changes.

What does PAUSED mean for Sammarinese applicants?

PAUSED means new applications from Sammarinese passport holders are temporarily unavailable. A paused cap may return to OPEN later in the same program year, though that is not guaranteed. We monitor the published status and notify you when we detect that it has changed.

Will VisaCapAlert notify me when San Marino reopens?

We check San Marino's published cap status every minute and email your confirmed address as soon as we detect that the status has changed. After payment you can also add and verify a phone number for an optional WhatsApp message. What we cannot do is tell you in advance whether or when San Marino will reopen — that is decided by the official process and we learn of it when it is published.

What happens if San Marino changes to CLOSED?

A CLOSED status means the cap will not reopen during the current program year. If San Marino changes to CLOSED while your alert is active, we notify you of that status change too — knowing where you stand is the point of the alert. Cap statuses reset for the new program year on 1 July.

What if San Marino does not reopen at all?

That is a real possibility and we will not pretend otherwise: a paused cap may stay paused, or close. Your alert stays active for the monitoring period you paid for and notifies you if and when the published status changes. Because monitoring begins the moment you pay, the payment is not refundable on the basis that the status never changed — if you are unsure, that is worth weighing before you buy.

Can I pay for the San Marino alert in euros?

Yes. The San Marino alert is priced in euros, and Australian dollars are offered as a second option before you pay. Whichever you choose, the exact amount is confirmed on screen before any payment is taken.

Does San Marino share its cap with the country that surrounds it?

No. San Marino is a partner country in its own right, with its own first Work and Holiday visa cap and its own published status. A change published for a neighbouring country tells you nothing about San Marino.

Will the alert still reach me while I am in San Marino?

Yes. The alert is an email, sent to the address you confirm at signup, so it reaches you anywhere you can read email. After payment you can also add a phone number for an optional WhatsApp message.

How much does it cost?

Premium monitoring for this country is €4.50 as a single one-time payment, or €2.00 each month. Both cover the same service and run until 30 June 2027 AEST, and the amount is confirmed before you pay.

What happens after I sign up?

You confirm your email with a code and complete payment — a one-time €4.50, or the monthly option at €2.00 a month — and your alert is active straight away. After payment you can also add a phone number to be notified by WhatsApp. We then watch your selected country's cap and notify you when its published status changes.

How do the two payment options differ?

Only in how you pay — the service is identical. One-time is a single €4.50 payment with no recurring charges — €13.50 off the €18.00 full price. Monthly is €2.00/mo while the alert is active, ending automatically on 30 June 2027 AEST.

Both options include every-minute checks, email alerts and optional WhatsApp notifications, and both stay active until 30 June 2027 AEST.

You can cancel the monthly option anytime at visacapalert.com/cancel-subscription/; no future payments are processed after cancellation, months already charged aren't refunded, and monitoring stops at that point. If a monthly payment fails, you have 7 days to update your card before the alert is cancelled.

On 1 July AEST, visa cap statuses reset, so you'll need to register again to keep tracking a country in the new cap period.
