Independent Work & Holiday visa (subclass 462) cap alerts
Poland Work and Holiday visa cap alerts
Australia applies an annual cap to first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visas granted to Polish passport holders. Poland has a larger allocation than several other European partner countries, but the published status can still be paused during the program year.
When Poland is PAUSED, new first Work and Holiday applications from Polish passport holders are temporarily unavailable. The status can later return to OPEN, and applicants are not given an individual advance notice of when that will happen.
VisaCapAlert checks Poland's published cap status every minute and emails you as soon as we detect a change.

How the Poland alert works
Create your Poland alert
Enter your email address and confirm it with the code we send you. Poland is already selected as the country to monitor.
Choose how you pay
Pick the one-time payment or the monthly payment option. Both buy exactly the same Premium monitoring and notifications — only the payment structure differs.
Get notified and act promptly
VisaCapAlert checks Poland's published cap status every minute — up to 1,440 checks a day. When the status changes we email you, and after payment you can add and verify a phone number for an optional WhatsApp notification.
We monitor the official Home Affairs country-cap status page. That government page can be delayed by up to 48 hours, so alerts reflect when a status change is published — not necessarily when the underlying decision was made.
You remain responsible for checking the official requirements, confirming your own eligibility, and lodging your application through the official Australian Government process.

Status information comes from the official Department of Home Affairs country-cap status page. That government page can take up to 48 hours to reflect a change, so our alerts tell you when a status change is published — not necessarily when the underlying decision was made. We have no privileged access to government information about Poland. View the official Home Affairs cap-status page.

Understanding Poland's Work and Holiday visa cap
Australia applies an annual cap to the number of first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visas that may be granted to Polish passport holders. Second and third Work and Holiday visas are not counted against the first-visa cap in the same way.
A PAUSED status means new first Work and Holiday applications from Polish passport holders are temporarily unavailable.
A paused cap can later return to OPEN during the same program year. A CLOSED cap will not reopen during that program year and waits for the new program-year reset.
VisaCapAlert does not control when Poland opens, pauses or closes. We monitor the published status and notify you when we detect a change.
Why create a Poland cap alert?
A larger cap does not make the published status predictable. Poland can still be paused while applications are managed, and the next change is something applicants otherwise need to notice themselves.
Poland is many hours behind eastern Australia, so an Australian update may appear overnight or early in the Polish morning.
VisaCapAlert checks Poland’s published status every minute and notifies you when we detect a change, allowing you to focus on preparing rather than repeatedly checking the status page.
An alert does not reserve a place, submit an application, assess eligibility or guarantee a visa outcome.
- VisaCapAlert does not reserve or hold a visa place.
- VisaCapAlert does not submit your application.
- VisaCapAlert does not assess your eligibility.
- VisaCapAlert does not provide migration advice.
- VisaCapAlert does not guarantee a visa outcome.

Poland cap alerts — frequently asked questions
Poland has an annual limit on the number of first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visas Australia may grant to Polish passport holders. The current published figure is shown in the cap status panel on this page, taken directly from the official Department of Home Affairs country-cap page so it stays correct if the official figure changes.
PAUSED means new applications from Polish passport holders are temporarily unavailable. A paused cap may return to OPEN later in the same program year, though that is not guaranteed. We monitor the published status and notify you when we detect that it has changed.
We check Poland's published cap status every minute and email your confirmed address as soon as we detect that the status has changed. After payment you can also add and verify a phone number for an optional WhatsApp message. What we cannot do is tell you in advance whether or when Poland will reopen — that is decided by the official process and we learn of it when it is published.
A CLOSED status means the cap will not reopen during the current program year. If Poland changes to CLOSED while your alert is active, we notify you of that status change too — knowing where you stand is the point of the alert. Cap statuses reset for the new program year on 1 July.
That is a real possibility and we will not pretend otherwise: a paused cap may stay paused, or close. Your alert stays active for the monitoring period you paid for and notifies you if and when the published status changes. Because monitoring begins the moment you pay, the payment is not refundable on the basis that the status never changed — if you are unsure, that is worth weighing before you buy.
VisaCapAlert uses EUR pricing for all EU country pages. If your card is denominated in PLN, your card provider may convert the charge.
Not necessarily. The cap size and the timing or duration of published status changes are separate things. VisaCapAlert does not forecast how long an OPEN status will last.
No for alerting purposes: Home Affairs publishes Poland with its own cap and status, and VisaCapAlert monitors Poland separately.
Premium monitoring for this country is €4.50 as a single one-time payment, or €2.00 each month. Both cover the same service and run until 30 June 2027 AEST, and the amount is confirmed before you pay.
You confirm your email with a code and complete payment — a one-time €4.50, or the monthly option at €2.00 a month — and your alert is active straight away. After payment you can also add a phone number to be notified by WhatsApp. We then watch your selected country's cap and notify you when its published status changes.
Only in how you pay — the service is identical. One-time is a single €4.50 payment with no recurring charges — €13.50 off the €18.00 full price. Monthly is €2.00/mo while the alert is active, ending automatically on 30 June 2027 AEST.
Both options include every-minute checks, email alerts and optional WhatsApp notifications, and both stay active until 30 June 2027 AEST.
You can cancel the monthly option anytime at visacapalert.com/cancel-subscription/; no future payments are processed after cancellation, months already charged aren't refunded, and monitoring stops at that point. If a monthly payment fails, you have 7 days to update your card before the alert is cancelled.
On 1 July AEST, visa cap statuses reset, so you'll need to register again to keep tracking a country in the new cap period.
