Independent Work & Holiday visa (subclass 462) cap alerts

Brazil Work and Holiday visa cap alerts

Australia limits how many first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visas can be granted to Brazilian passport holders in each program year. Once that annual cap is reached — or while applications are being managed — the published status changes, and new applications are not available.

A paused cap can return to open later in the same program year. There is no published schedule for that, which is why so many Brazilian applicants end up refreshing the government status page day after day.

VisaCapAlert checks Brazil's published cap status every minute and emails you as soon as we detect that it has changed.

How the Brazil alert works

1

Create your Brazil alert

Enter your email address and confirm it with the code we send you. Brazil is already selected as the country to monitor.

2

Choose how you pay

Pick the one-time payment or the monthly payment option. Both buy exactly the same Premium monitoring and notifications — only the payment structure differs.

3

Get notified and act promptly

VisaCapAlert checks Brazil's published cap status every minute — up to 1,440 checks a day. When the status changes we email you, and after payment you can add and verify a phone number for an optional WhatsApp notification.

How often we check Brazil's cap:⚡ Every minute — 1,440 checks per day

We monitor the official Home Affairs country-cap status page. That government page can be delayed by up to 48 hours, so alerts reflect when a status change is published — not necessarily when the underlying decision was made.

You remain responsible for checking the official requirements, confirming your own eligibility, and lodging your application through the official Australian Government process.

Status information comes from the official Department of Home Affairs country-cap status page. That government page can take up to 48 hours to reflect a change, so our alerts tell you when a status change is published — not necessarily when the underlying decision was made. We have no privileged access to government information about Brazil. View the official Home Affairs cap-status page.

Understanding Brazil's Work and Holiday visa cap

Australia applies an annual cap to the number of first Work and Holiday subclass 462 visas that may be granted to Brazilian passport holders. The cap applies to first Work and Holiday visas — second and third Work and Holiday visas are not counted against it in the same way.

A PAUSED status means new applications from Brazilian passport holders are temporarily unavailable. A pause may be used to manage application volumes, or as the country approaches its annual cap.

A paused cap may return to OPEN later in the same program year. A CLOSED cap will not reopen during that program year. Caps are reset for the new program year on 1 July.

VisaCapAlert does not control when Brazil opens, pauses or closes. We monitor the published status and tell you when we detect that it has changed.

Why create a Brazil cap alert?

You can check the official Home Affairs status page for Brazil yourself, and you are welcome to. The difficulty is that there is no announced reopening date, so checking means checking indefinitely.

VisaCapAlert automates exactly that. We watch Brazil's published status every minute and notify you the moment we detect a change, so you can spend your attention on preparing your application instead of refreshing a page.

An alert does not guarantee that you will be able to lodge an application or receive a visa. It means you find out about a published status change promptly rather than by chance.

  • VisaCapAlert does not reserve or hold a visa place.
  • VisaCapAlert does not submit your application.
  • VisaCapAlert does not assess your eligibility.
  • VisaCapAlert does not provide migration advice.
  • VisaCapAlert does not guarantee a visa outcome.

Why we built VisaCapAlert

We're a Brazilian couple who moved to Australia more than 10 years ago. When friends and family began waiting for their country's Work and Holiday visa cap to reopen, we saw how frustrating it was to keep checking the government website and worrying about missing an update.

Combining our backgrounds in software engineering and business administration, we created VisaCapAlert to monitor published cap-status changes and notify people promptly when their selected country changes.

VisaCapAlert is an independent Australian service. We do not provide migration advice or submit visa applications.

VisaCapAlert.com is operated by WONDRATECH PTY LTD under the registered business name Status Alert Technologies. Australian Business Number: 51 633 863 966.

Brazil cap alerts — frequently asked questions

What is Brazil's annual Work and Holiday visa cap?

Brazil has an annual limit on the number of first Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visas Australia may grant to Brazilian passport holders. The current published figure is shown in the cap status panel on this page, taken directly from the official Department of Home Affairs country-cap page so it stays correct if the official figure changes.

What does PAUSED mean for Brazilian applicants?

PAUSED means new applications from Brazilian passport holders are temporarily unavailable. A paused cap may return to OPEN later in the same program year, though that is not guaranteed. We monitor the published status and notify you when we detect that it has changed.

Will VisaCapAlert notify me when Brazil reopens?

We check Brazil's published cap status every minute and email your confirmed address as soon as we detect that the status has changed. After payment you can also add and verify a phone number for an optional WhatsApp message. What we cannot do is tell you in advance whether or when Brazil will reopen — that is decided by the official process and we learn of it when it is published.

What happens if Brazil changes to CLOSED?

A CLOSED status means the cap will not reopen during the current program year. If Brazil changes to CLOSED while your alert is active, we notify you of that status change too — knowing where you stand is the point of the alert. Cap statuses reset for the new program year on 1 July.

What if Brazil does not reopen at all?

That is a real possibility and we will not pretend otherwise: a paused cap may stay paused, or close. Your alert stays active for the monitoring period you paid for and notifies you if and when the published status changes. Because monitoring begins the moment you pay, the payment is not refundable on the basis that the status never changed — if you are unsure, that is worth weighing before you buy.

Does VisaCapAlert have a connection to Brazil?

Yes, in the sense that matters least legally and most personally: VisaCapAlert was built in Australia by a Brazilian couple, and the Brazil cap is the one we first watched on behalf of friends and family. That does not make us a Brazilian company or a migration provider — we are an independent Australian alert service and we do not provide migration advice.

Can I pay in Brazilian reais?

Yes. The Brazil alert is priced in Brazilian reais, and the one-time payment supports Pix as well as card. The monthly option is card-only. The amount shown on the page is exactly what you are charged.

Does an alert help if Brazil's cap has already been reached this year?

Possibly not in the current program year — if the published status becomes CLOSED, it will not reopen before 1 July. Your alert still notifies you of that change, so you know where you stand rather than continuing to check. Whether a paused cap returns to open is controlled entirely by the official process.

How much does it cost?

Premium monitoring for this country is R$ 16,30 as a single one-time payment, or R$ 7,20 each month. Both cover the same service and run until 30 June 2027 AEST, and the amount is confirmed before you pay.

What happens after I sign up?

You confirm your email with a code and complete payment — a one-time R$ 16,30, or the monthly option at R$ 7,20 a month — and your alert is active straight away. After payment you can also add a phone number to be notified by WhatsApp. We then watch your selected country's cap and notify you when its published status changes.

How do the two payment options differ?

Only in how you pay — the service is identical. One-time is a single R$ 16,30 payment with no recurring charges — R$ 48,50 off the R$ 64,80 full price. Monthly is R$ 7,20/mo while the alert is active, ending automatically on 30 June 2027 AEST.

Both options include every-minute checks, email alerts and optional WhatsApp notifications, and both stay active until 30 June 2027 AEST.

You can cancel the monthly option anytime at visacapalert.com/cancel-subscription/; no future payments are processed after cancellation, months already charged aren't refunded, and monitoring stops at that point. If a monthly payment fails, you have 7 days to update your card before the alert is cancelled.

On 1 July AEST, visa cap statuses reset, so you'll need to register again to keep tracking a country in the new cap period.
